There is a special need to focus on the position that the Non-Aligned Movement should take on this question as it has a significance to shape many long term trends.

Many initiatives in the past to promote a culture of peace, especially at UNESCO have produced some important documents which warrant our attention.

It is time that G-20 should look at the issue of culture seriously.

Abstract

As I am coordinating networks of scientists, artists with about 10.000 participants from over 120 countries, it is interesting for us to discuss which role culture should play in the states of the world and in transnational organizations.

I wish to share my ideas as a member of the Austrian UNESCO Commission: https://www.inst.at/bilder/UNESCO_M_1998.pdf

and one of the coordinators of EOLSS: UNESCO - ENCYCLOPEDIA OF LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS (EOLSS)

and recalling my experience in the world project of Mountains supported by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 2001.
