But large private financial firms are more than hesitant because they do not receive the same guarantees that profits will be privatized and losses socialized, as is apparently normal with "public-private partnerships".
And why should we expect the private sector to solve a long-term problem of public goods such as climate change? The private sector is notorious for its short-sightedness and for focusing only on its own profit rather than the benefit to society.
